We recently released The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 2017 and we have discovered that this first version contains a number of typos that occurred during the publishing process. We realize that these errors may make it difficult to understand certain content and could affect the study experience for the GMAT exam. To resolve this issue, we have created an up-to-date errata document that candidates can reference for corrections. We will also provide a free replacement copy of The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 2017 when the corrected version is ready for distribution.
Both the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) and Wiley deeply apologize for the inconvenience these errors may have caused individuals studying for the exam. We are committed to high-quality publication standards, and moving forward we will make every effort to ensure that our study products are superior to enable the best practice for the GMAT exam.
Our customer care representatives are available to answer any questions or concerns.
You have three primary options:
In addition to the above options, candidates have access to comparable study materials that enable them to prepare with official GMAT practice questions, such as the The Official Guide for GMAT® Verbal Review, 2017 and The Official Guide for GMAT® Quantitative Review, 2017, Free GMATPrep® Software, and more.
The new, corrected version of The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 2017 has a green cover with back and white text.
If you purchased the first version of the The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 2017, you can request a free replacement copy of the 2017 guide, which will be shipped when the new, corrected version is available. (Proof of purchase may be required.)

We are working diligently on producing a new, corrected version of The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 2017. We expect this book to be in retail stores (online and physical) by the end of August at the earliest.
No; it may be a little difficult to understand some of the questions and explanations because of the typos, but you can make corrections and access a replacement chapter 4 (PDF) as noted in the errata document.
An errata document is a list of corrected errors for a book or other published work.
The majority of the errors are in Chapter 4, the Math Review. There are additional errors in other chapters of The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 2017. If you plan to continue using your Official Guide, we recommend you reference the errata document to replace chapter 4 and to identify errors and make corrections in other chapters of the Guide.
There are a select number of errors in each of the 2017 Quantitative and Verbal guides. Please reference the 2017 Quantitative Guide errata document and the 2017 Verbal Guide errata document to see where the errors are and correct your copy of the guide.
If you prefer not to use The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 2017 to study, you still have options for preparing with materials that have official GMAT questions:
You can absolutely use an old edition of The Official Guide for GMAT Review to prepare for the GMAT exam. The 2017 edition offers new questions, but the questions in the old editions are still useful as a preparation tool.
To get a refund for your The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 2017 purchase, please reference and follow the refund policy of the retailer from which you purchased your Guide.
We are not formally recalling (i.e., pulling it off of bookshelves across all retailers) The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 2017 because we understand that some candidates would prefer to purchase the 2017 Official Guide and make corrections to their copy using the errata document. Though there are more than the typical number of errors than expected from the publishing process, the majority of the errors do not impact comprehension of actual practice questions; it is still possible to use this Guide together with the errata document and replacement chapter 4 to effectively prepare for the GMAT exam.
If you have discovered an error that is not listed in one of the below errata documents below, please contact customercare@mba.com.
